Awakened Designs - Discover and Manifest Your True Calling

Marlene has had an affinity for counseling and energy healing all of her life.  As a child at family gatherings, her cousins would line up to receive treatments from her.  Later in life, her coworkers would do the same. In her early 20's someone gave her a book on Polarity Therapy (energy healing).  When she went home and did some of the exercises, she was astounded at the healing capacity of the work; she was hooked and began devouring whatever training she could.

Among her many credentials, Marlene is a certified intuitive career coach and a member of Sue Frederick's, (author of I See Your Dream Job), coaching community and an adviser at the True Livelihood Network. She brings over 30 years of professional experience into her work with clients, including extensive training in Polarity Therapy, Hakomi Therapy (body-centered psychotherapy), feng shui design and authorization as meditation instructor.

Prior to a career in the healing arts, Marlene was an urban planner in some of the fastest growing jurisdictions in the Washington DC and Twin Cities metropolitan areas. When she left that profession, she made a vow to herself to only pursue work that opened her heart, a vow she didn't always keep. It is the challenges on her own path to right livelihood that have fueled her passion for helping others befriend and manifest their inherent gifts.  Currently, Marlene lives in the beautiful foothills of Boulder, CO where she coaches people globally in integrating new, life enhancing possibilities that express the essence of their beings and unleash their brilliance into the world.

The heart is the hub of all sacred space. . .
go there and roam in it.

A poem and personal note from Marlene:

Be Your Beauty

What is it to spread your light?
Be your beauty.
Stand rooted
Expand deep into Mother Earth.
Drink her fluid wisdom and look upward
receiving blessings from the heavens.
Let the heart of universal knowing extend through your branches
and shine light out from your endless fingertips,
gently touching the light of all the women
A global web of love.
Our Mother needs this
Aches for this,
Our all-pervasive beauty.
Soft like moonlight
Strong and subtle like the ocean current
Brilliant, indestructible diamond of love
Please bless our world.

Written amongst the rocks of the Anne White Trail Boulder CO, May 6, 2011

I recently took a class with Grandmother Flordemayo, one of the 13 Indigenious Grandmothers.  She instructed us to go out and listen to the natural world and connect with rocks, to let them communicate with us.  So I went out to a trail I enjoy in North Boulder, expecting to hike a bit.  I didn’t get very far as the landforms and stones were speaking, calling to me.  I sat and wrote their message, the words of the above poem.

So this is how it seems to go, listen to the calling, and take guided action in alignment with what is heard.  Even now, I sometimes try to ignore the calling, to take a more conventional and seemingly easier route.  But like my walk on the path, I don’t get very far before I am forced to listen (which ironically, always turns out to be much easier in the end than resisting and is certainly more satisfying!).

We all have callings, yet we are trained to ignore them, to discredit them, to bury them so deep, we do not even know they are there.  I myself have had a circuitous career path - a community organizer, urban planner, healer and body centered therapist, sales person.  For a long time, I worked hard, but without much direction, trying to be good at everything, trying to prove my worth. In my late 30’s and early 40's, I had finally honed my niche and began to relax into the value of what I had to offer. But by my mid-forties, I was at a crossroads, starting over in a new city and ready for my healing practice to morph into a different form.  It would take time to rebuild my practice, but my family needed immediate income. I felt caught; do I stick with my vision or do I take a job to pay the bills?

I fell off path, chasing my tail to pay the mortgage. Although I had a modicum of success, these jobs did not fully blossom as they were not a true match for my spirit – a funny kind of protector principle from the universe so I couldn’t get too comfortable.  After several years of struggle and a divorce, I finally began to embrace my own gifts and commit to work that expresses them.

Numerological advice from Sue Frederick, a gifted career intuitive was key in this process. As I became clearer about my own path, I found myself naturally counseling other woman and being sought out for advice about working from your essence. So I decided to train with Sue and became certified in her method. And thus, my challenges and struggles have led me right where I need to be. . .

It seems that now more than ever, we are being called to step into our true power and bring forth our wisdom. It takes courage to walk our path with authenticity and we need to support one another. It is such a joy and honor to walk alongside so many wonderful souls.  If you feel the calling, it would also be my honor to walk alongside you, to bask in your gifts and help you manifest your vision of a beautiful, satisfying life that allows you to Be Your Beauty.
